Dr Paweł Polkowski
Ośrodek Studiów Pradziejowych i Średniowiecznych w Poznaniu
Zainteresowania badawcze:
Prowadzone przeze mnie badania koncentrują się na sztuce naskalnej Afryki północno-wschodniej. Zajmuję się przede wszystkim petroglifami na Pustyni Zachodniej w Egipcie oraz w nubijskiej dolinie Nilu, datowanymi od wczesnego holocenu po okres nowożytny. W moich studiach często eksploruję zagadnienia z zakresu teorii i metodologii archeologii. Jestem kierownikiem ekspedycji do Oazy Dachla oraz uczestnikiem kilku innych misji pracujących w Egipcie i Sudanie. Od 2019 roku kieruję międzynarodowym zespołem Dakhleh Oasis Project. Do tej pory realizowałem trzy granty badawcze przyznane przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki, a także staż podoktorski w Kairze w ramach programu Centrum Archeologii Śródziemnomorskiej UW oraz Institut français d’archéologie orientale.
