Research interests:

1) Political and cultural relations between nomadic and agrarian communities in Eurasian lands (mainly the western, European part of the so called Great Steppe) in the Antiquity and the Middle Ages
2) The picture of a nomad in written sources produced by communities settled in Eurasia (mainly Latin tradition, Old Greek and Byzantine)
3) Byzantium and its contacts to the outer world in the 10th to 12th c. (mainly contacts with nomads of the Great Steppe and Eastern and Southern Slavdom)
4) Legnica battle (9 IV 1241) and the memory of it
5) Settlement processes during the Piast monarchy (mainly Silesian area)
